Dell announced the model refreshes in a blog post, detailing changes that it also will bring to its commercial line of Latitude and OptiPlex PCs. One of the biggest upgrades with this overhaul, though, is the introduction of an OLED screen on the XPS 15. This is the first time the smaller laptop of the XPS line will feature an OLED display, and Dell says the move should allow for more vivid and accurate colors. Both the 15- and 17-inch models will include Dell’s InfinityEdge display, offering resolution options of 1920 x 1200 or 4K Ultra HD. The XPS 15 also can ship with what Dell calls a 3.5K+ display, which offers a resolution of 3456 x 2160, compared to the standard 3840 x 2400 offered with 4K. The XPS 15 and 17 also offer several memory options, from the standard 8GB up to 64GB. The XPS 17 starts at $1,449.99, but that price will depend on the configuration that you choose. The XPS 15 will start at $1,249.99—making it $200 cheaper for the basic setup. Both devices offer several ways to customize the systems, allowing you to eek out more performance if needed. Dell also announced the new Alienware m15 R6 and the Dell Gaming G15 (TGL), for those looking to pick up a new Dell-branded gaming laptop in the near future. Other announcements included a new wireless ANC headset and a 32-inch 4K USB-C hub monitor. All of the devices and accessories announced by Dell today will be available this summer.
