How to Find Skype Emoji

Whether you use Skype on a computer or the Skype app on a smartphone or tablet, it’s easy to find and use emoji. When you select a contact and open the conversation window, look for a small, circular smiley face icon in the box where you type a message. Select the smiley face, and Skype opens a window displaying the available emoji. If you’re on a computer, scroll through the Skype emoji window to find the one you want to use. On mobile devices, swipe sideways to scroll through the options. You can also select the category icons to jump to specific sets, such as animals or national flags. If you still can’t find an emoji you want, search for specific emoji by selecting the search box and typing a keyword.

How to Use Skype Emoji

There are a few ways you can use Skype emoji. The first is simple: select the emoji you want to use with the method you learned about in the previous section. This inserts it into the text box, where you can then add more emoji or text. A second way you can use Skype emoji is to type the emoji into the text box. Skype allows you to type many of the most common emoji, like the smiley face or winking face, by typing the emoticon version like :) or ;). Emoticons differ from emoji in that emoticons are made entirely with keyboard characters and symbols to display emotions. Each Skype emoji also has a code representing it, and you can enter these codes to use an emoji as well. For example, there is an emoji that has an idea. To use it, type (idea) in the text field. When you send your message, the code is converted into the emoji. There isn’t an easy way to find emoji codes on mobile devices. Still, you can hover the mouse pointer over a Skype emoji on a computer, and a preview at the top of the window shows you a large view of the emoji along with its description and code in parentheses.

How to Use the Hidden Emoji

Skype doesn’t show off all of the emoji it has available. Many may not appear in the emoji window you scroll through. However, you can use the search function on your mobile device to find these emoji. On a computer, you have to know the emoji’s code and type it into the text box, as explained in the previous section. You can find the full list of Skype emoji, including the hidden ones, in the support section of its website.
