Lau showed off the Nord N200 on Monday while talking with PCMag. According to Android Authority, the new budget handset will be a rebrand of the Oppo A93 5G and will include a full HD display, as well as support for 5G connectivity. The overall design of the Nord N200 looks similar to last year’s N100 (which Android Authority also notes was an Oppo rebrand) and will be a part of the company’s budget 5G offerings. Over the past several months, we’ve seen a multitude of companies pushing cheaper 5G-capable phones, and OnePlus has been chief among that group, releasing devices like the $300 Nord N10 5G. The N200 will offer similar features for less, though, including a large 6.49-inch screen with a 1080P LCD display. It also will include a 90Hz refresh rate, which should help provide a smoother response in visual-heavy applications. According to PCMag, the Nord N200 will feature three camera slots on the back, much like the Oppo A93 5G, as well as a fairly large bump—which isn’t out of the ordinary for current smartphones. Full details on the phone haven’t been shared just yet, but OnePlus reportedly has plans to slowly release more details about the upcoming device via Twitter. As of this moment, neither the price nor the release date has been officially revealed. 5G is slowly and surely becoming a more affordable option for users looking to purchase new phones, and as OnePlus reveals more about the Nord N200, it could become a very viable option for those looking to upgrade to a 5G-capable phone without spending a lot of money.
